Privacy Policy
How we handle your information - in plain language, and in line with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other applicable laws.

Who we are
Paint Protection Pros ("we", "us", "our") is an independent consumer resource for paint protection film, ceramic coating, window tint, vinyl wraps, and paint correction. We are not a shop; we publish information and connect vehicle owners with vetted independent installers. You can reach us any time at hello@paintprotectionpros.net.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you submit our "Build my plan" form, we collect the details you provide: your name, email address, phone number, vehicle details (year, make, model, color), the service you're interested in, what you're trying to protect against, and your location (metro area).
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information in server logs (such as your IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to keep the site secure and running. We do not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies.
How we use your information
- To understand your vehicle and how you use it, and give you a right-sized recommendation.
- To match you with one or more vetted independent shops near you.
- To respond to your questions and follow up about your request.
- To keep the site secure and improve our content.
How we share your information
With vetted shops. The core purpose of the form is to connect you with an installer. When we match you, we share the details you submitted with the vetted shop(s) we refer you to so they can contact you and prepare a quote. Shops in our network pay a membership fee for access and clearly-disclosed placement. Because payment is involved in this arrangement, sharing your details with a matched shop may be treated as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under some laws (such as California's CCPA/CPRA). Submitting the form is your instruction to share your details with a matched shop. If you do not want your details shared with a shop, do not submit the form - email us instead and we'll answer your questions directly - or use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in our footer.
With service providers. We use trusted providers to run the site: our hosting provider (Vercel), which also collects anonymous, cookieless performance metrics (Vercel Speed Insights); our form and database provider (Supabase), which stores the details you submit through our forms; an email-forwarding provider (FormSubmit) that delivers form notifications to us by email; a web-font provider (Google Fonts); an image provider (Pexels); Google (Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics) to understand how the site is used; and Meta (the Facebook Pixel) to measure and target our advertising. These providers process limited technical data (such as your IP address and online activity) to deliver, measure, and advertise the site.
We don't sell your information to unrelated data brokers or list sellers. Two parts of how we operate may, however, count as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under laws such as California's CCPA/CPRA: (1) matching you with a vetted shop that pays for network membership (see "With vetted shops" above), and (2) advertising and analytics tools - Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel - that set cookies and share online activity and device identifiers with those providers to measure and improve our advertising, including showing our ads to people who have visited the site. You can opt out of both - see "Cookies and analytics," the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in our footer, and "Your rights." Money never buys a ranking on this site.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer, always consistent with this policy.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics (GA4), which helps us understand how visitors use the site - for example, which pages are viewed and roughly where visitors are located (based on IP address). These tools set cookies and collect usage data, which Google processes on our behalf as our service provider. We do not use this data to identify you personally.
We also use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure our advertising and show relevant ads to people who have visited the site. The Pixel sets cookies and shares your on-site activity and identifiers with Meta. It is an advertising and cross-site tracking tool.
Your choices, and how we honor them. A cookie banner appears on your first visit so you can Accept or Reject analytics and advertising cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" (or "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information") link in the site footer. We use Google Consent Mode v2 and the Meta Pixel's consent controls to enforce your choice: in regions that require prior consent (such as the EEA and UK) these cookies are denied by default until you accept, and elsewhere you can opt out at any time. We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out of advertising "sharing." You can additionally control cookies in your browser, adjust your Meta ad preferences (in your Facebook/Instagram settings), and use Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.
Legal bases (GDPR/UK GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, we process your information on these bases: your consent (which you give when you submit the form and check the consent box, and, where required, for analytics cookies); our legitimate interests in operating, securing, measuring, and improving the site and responding to enquiries; and compliance with legal obligations. You can withdraw consent at any time (see "Your rights").
Data retention
We keep the information you submit only as long as needed to make your match and follow up reasonably, and then for a limited period for our records. You can ask us to delete your information at any time and we will do so unless we are required to keep it by law.
Your rights
If you are in the EEA or UK (GDPR): you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data; to data portability; to withdraw consent; and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it's used and shared; to delete it; to correct it; and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We don't sell your information to unrelated data brokers, but two things may count as a "sale" or "sharing" under the CCPA/CPRA: matching you with a vetted shop that pays for network membership, and our use of advertising cookies (such as the Meta Pixel). You can opt out using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in our footer, by sending the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal (which we honor automatically), by not submitting the match form, by adjusting your Meta ad preferences, or by emailing us, and we will honor your request. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Everyone: regardless of where you live, you can ask us to access or delete the information you submitted.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@paintprotectionpros.net. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Consent to be contacted
By submitting the form and checking the consent box, you agree that we and the vetted shop(s) we match you with may contact you about your request by email, phone, or text at the contact details you provide. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to a text, telling the caller, or emailing us.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
International visitors
We are based in the United States and our providers process data in the United States. If you access the site from outside the U.S., you understand your information may be processed in the U.S., which may have different data protection laws than your country.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and we use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with an updated "Last updated" date.
